Terms and Conditions

1. General

  • These Terms & Conditions apply to all repair services provided by ByteBack, located in Perth, Western Australia.

  • By leaving a device with us for inspection or repair, the customer agrees to these Terms & Conditions.

 

2. Assessment & Quotes

  • All quotes are estimates only. If additional issues are discovered during repair, the customer will be contacted before work continues.

  • Diagnostic checks are free unless otherwise stated.

  • Devices that have been previously repaired or opened by third parties may have hidden damage that affects the final cost.

 

3. Repair Process

  • Repairs are carried out with a high level of care, but some repairs (especially on damaged or water‑affected devices) carry inherent risks.

  • Opening a device may cause existing damage to worsen. ByteBack is not responsible for pre‑existing faults that become apparent during repair.

  • Water‑damaged devices have no guarantee of successful repair.

 

4. Parts & Warranty

  • We use high‑quality aftermarket or genuine parts depending on availability and customer preference.

  • Warranty periods:

    • Screens: 3, 6 or 12 months depending on part grade

    • Batteries: 6 months

    • Other parts: 30 days

  • Warranty covers part defects only, not physical damage, liquid damage, or misuse.

  • Warranty is void if:

    • The device is cracked, bent, or damaged after repair

    • The device has been opened or repaired by another party

    • Liquid damage occurs after repair

 

5. Data & Privacy

  • Customers are responsible for backing up their data before repair.

  • While we take care to avoid data loss, we are not liable for lost data, settings, or apps.

  • Devices may be unlocked or powered on for testing purposes only.

 

6. Payment

  • Payment is required in full upon collection of the device.

  • Devices not collected within 60 days may be recycled or sold to recover costs, in accordance with WA consumer law.

 

7. Liability

  • ByteBack is not responsible for:

    • Loss of data

    • Further damage caused by pre‑existing faults

    • Damage caused by customer‑supplied parts

  • In the rare event of technician‑caused damage, we will repair or replace the affected component at no cost.

 

8. Device Testing

  • Devices are tested before and after repair.

  • Customers are encouraged to test their device upon collection.

  • Issues reported after leaving the premises may not be covered under warranty.

 

9. Returns & Refunds

  • Refunds are only provided for defective parts covered under warranty.

  • Change‑of‑mind refunds are not available for repair services.

 

10. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Western Australia.
